The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters ceremoniously opened new accommodation capacities in the Říční street in Vodňany on 10. 6. 2020. The faculty has three apartments for postdocs and foreign employees and an office for building manager available.

The deputy rector and the vice-rector for research Assoc. Prof. Dipl. – Ing. Luděk Berec, Dr., the FFPW USB dean Prof. Dipl. – Ing. Pavel Kozák, Ph.D. and the mayor of the Vodňany town Milan Němeček signed within the grand opening of the building the Memorandum of cooperation between the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters USB and the Vodňany town.

The costs related to the building reconstruction were covered by the budged of the FFPW USB with the support of the USB Strategic Priorities Fund, the construction contractor was Mr. David Štefan and total costs were 7 591 094 CZK without VAT (9 185 224 including VAT).
