The laboratory of signal and image processing become one of the winners of the OpenCV Spatial AI Competition, sponsored by the world's largest processors manufacturer, Intel Corporation. From the submitted 235 projects, 31 teams were selected in the first phase. The winning teams will receive a prototype of the OpenCV AI Kit with Depth (OAK-D) and access to Intel® DevCloud. It is specialized system combining the 3D camera and 2D camera with the on-board Deep learning processing without the need to transfer the data to the computer. In the second phase, the results of projects using the OAK-D prototype in real situations will be competed.

The lab's project is focused on an automated sampling system, allowing real-time monitoring of fish welfare conditions and growth in high-intensity culture systems such as RAS. The camera will be used for the other projects of the laboratory.
