* The Fulbright Commission offers scholarships for postgraduate studies and research in the US
Students and graduates of high schools who earn at least a Bachelor degree on 1 September 2017, the JW Fulbright Commission will offer a government scholarship to continue a study or research in the United States of America. The scholarship is awarded for one school year (9 months) and covers up to a maximum of 15 thousand dollars, life expenses, basic health insurance and a return ticket. Candidates must submit an online application and provide additional evidence for the selection process (ie three letters of recommendation, copies of the study results and the results of the required tests) until the first day of the academic year (the award is always the next academic year). "Every year the Fulbright Scholarship The US supports around 7 students and, given that we usually receive about 25 good grades, the student has a good chance of succeeding, "said Fulbright's director, Han Ripkova. The US resident may have completed the entire study program and earned a degree in American University ("grade" category) or only one-year ("non-degree"). The most visited category is the "visiting research student" category designed for work on a separate project, eg dissertation. In this case, the client must be invited from an institution in the USA. Applicants may apply for a scholarship in all disciplines except for clinical medicine, MBA and LLM. Preference is given to applicants who have not been studying in the USA for a long time. The prerequisite for this is excellent study results, Czech citizenship and stay in the CR. At the time of closing, the student should have the test results required by US universities (TOEFL iBT with a minimum of 80, or a GRE). All other information, including the application form and detailed program description, can be found at in the Fulbright Scholarship section. If you have any questions about the scholarship, please contact the Program Officer Andreu Semancova, Commission J. William Fulbright, Karmelitska 17, 118 00 Prague 1,,">Tel. 222 718 452, e-mail:,
