On Friday, 19 April was the Rectorate of the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Budějovice press conference presenting the project and the activities of South technology transfer centers (JCTT). The project involved not only the University of South Bohemia, but also Biology Centre of the Academy of Sciences. At a press conference in addition to the project description reinterpret our production technology carp with increased content of omega-3 fatty acids. The practical workshop „Fish Histopathology, especially in toxicological studies focused on trout and carp” organized by Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Biochemistry will be held in Vodňany at the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The lectures will be given twice on the 15th - 16th and 17th - 18th September by internationally recognized fish pathologist Dr. med.vet. Heike Schmidt from Centre of Fish and Wildlife Health, Vetsuisse – Faculty, University of Bern.
Pavla Linhartová, a student of follow-up master study at FFPW USB, won a gold medal in championship of the Czech republic in karate of seniors and masters 2013 - category kumite woman (weigh till 50 kg). The championship was held in Hradec Králové on Sunday 31st March 2013. Congratulations.
Regular meeting of the Fish Breeding Council, Fish Farmers´ Association of the Czech Republic will be held in the large meeting room of RIFCH on May 2, 2013, from 9,30 a.m. An informal tour for council members round the facilities of FFPW USB reconstructed within the CENAKVA project (i.e. the main building of RIFCH, Genetic fisheries centre and Experimental fish culture facility) will follow after the meeting.

At present, Dean´s office of FFPW and Research Institute of Fish Culture and Hydrobiology is moved back from spare spaces to the reconstructed building at Zátiší in Vodňany. Dean's office is already there and laboratories of the Institute will be completely moved in May 2013.
