The Faculty of Fisheries and Water Protection at the University of South Bohemia (USB FFPW) has been established as of 1 September 2009. It consists of the Research Institute of Fish Culture and Hydrobiology in Vodňany (USB RIFCH) and Institute of Aquaculture in České Budějovice (IA). The USB FFPW is the most complex workplace within Europe with bachelor, master and postgraduate studies, scientific and applied research, with inaugural and professorial rights in the field of fish farming and water protection. The faculty has available experimental background for study and research of aquaculture, hydrobiology, toxicology, fish diseases, reproduction, genetics, fish and crayfish farming and a unique fishery library.
