 I visited Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU, Department of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies) in Umea city and spent there 3 weeks starting 15th June. I was involved in study of smolts migrating downstream to evaluate a new guidance system connected to new fish ladder that officially opened on 20th May. The study was done in a different part of Umea River. Smolts were tagged with active radio transmitters and pet tag. Loggers with antenna for receipt and registration signals from radio transmitters were mounted in different places along the river. Antennas for pit tag were loaded in fish ladder directly. From obtained data it will be possible to determine velocity of downstream migration, way of migration and behavior of smolts migrated thru the ladder. |

 30. června 2010 nám Ministerstvo životního prostředí podepsalo registrační list akce. Díky tomuto listu můžeme zahájit realizaci projektu „Mezinárodní environmentální vzdělávací, poradenské a informační středisko ochrany vod Vodňany“ Operačního programu Životní prostředí, 7 prioritní osy. Vlastní rekonstrukce skladových prostor bývalého Wölflů mlýna FROV JU začne na jaře 2011. Zahájení činnosti vlastního střediska ochrany vod plánujeme na jaře 2012. |

 Dne 13. 7. byla podepsaná smlouva o pronájmu nebytových prostor s městem Vodňany. Celková pronajatá plocha je 791m 2, na kterých bychom měli jako fakulta působit po dobu cca 2 let. Stěhování do těchto prostor může začít po domluvě s tajemníkem od září 2010.

We participated in 12th toxicological congress (IUTOX) in Barcelona (Spain) from 19.-23. July 2010. Broad range of topics was discussed, from the basic research of mechanism of action of toxic substances to the problematic of introduction of new in vitro tests, which can help to decrease the numbers of experimental animals and finally the possibilities of using the results obtained in toxicological tests for risk assessment of chemicals.
