Doctoral candidate Fisheries, Ing. Miroslav Blecha, since 2000, competed devoted to float fishing. During this time represented the Czech Republic at 9 junior and two senior world championships, where he won two bronze, one silver and two gold medals. Keeping FFPW USB has decided that it is necessary to promote and reward students who study in addition to successful manage and sport, not just the fishing, at a high level. On the basis of a Dean´s decission No. 7/2013 (Special scholarship for sports) will be able to obtain such students 1) cash prize, which will be a sort of thank you for creating the reputation of our faculty to sports performance and / or 2) a small financial contribution to the realization of other sporting activities.
 

The Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice has obtained a grant from the South Bohemian Region in amount of 200 000,- CZK from the Grant Program named „Support for public scientific-research institutions and universities“ for the project  South Bohemian Research Center of Aquaculture and Biodiversity of Hydrocenoses (CENAQUA, CZ.1.05/2.1.00/01.0024). This financial support will be used to cover the ineligible costs of investment character that make part of the project. This grant will support the realisation of the project, which greatly contributes to revitalise research, development and inovative potential both in South Bohemia, and in Czech Republic and ensures an increase of competitiveness of the region.
