 On Friday, May 17, 2013, a further two RoadShows by the Institute of Complex Systems in Nove Hrady were held at the Grammar School, Middle School and Elementary School in Čéčova street in České Budějovice as part of the series of RoadShows prepared for primary and secondary schools within the project ScienceZOOM. In this school year this entertaining educational performances aims to bring the subject of physics studies – mostly a not very popular topic - closer to pupils. Until now, shows at three schools were seen by 118 pupils and 14 staff for further education.

 President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Mr. Milan Štěch visited the Faculty
 of Fisheries and Protection of Waters on Saturday, May 18, 2013.
The dean of the Faculty welcomed the President in the campus of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice where a new educational building is constructed. The construction is financed from the project "CZ.1.05/4.1.00/04.0190 Development of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters – Development of the USB FA and the USB FFPW".

 Thanks to the involvement of the FFPW USB in the project of the 7th RP Aquaexcel, we have been visited by Dr. Thomas Meinelt and BSc. Sarah Matzke from the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB), Berlin, who have used 8 of our ponds to start implementation of the project called "PAA against fish parasites".

 The international meeting and workshop entitled "Economic value of lakes and ponds and their sustainable use", realized within the project LakeAdmin, Regional Administration of Lake Restoration Initiatives, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and supported by the EU program INTERREG IVC, was held from the 13th to the 16th of May 2013 in our Faculty premises.
The meeting was attended not only by 9 project partners from eight European countries, but also by many other distinguished guests, Dipl.-Ing. Hana Rodinová, Ph.D., representative of the South Bohemia region, Vice-Rector doc. Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Dagmar Škodová Parmová or representatives of the State Environmental Fund.

 On Monday, May 13, 2013 two foreign guests concurrently visited our faculty.
Alexander Glubokov, the head of the Department of International Cooperation of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography in Moscow with Nikolina Kovaceva, the head of the Laboratory of Protection and Breeding of Shellfish of the same institute visited the Faculty during their holiday spent in the Czech Republic.
