About the programme

The study program Fishery combines knowledge from general subjects with a professional and practical technological focus in the given area. The graduate will gain professional knowledge in the biological-ecological relationships of aquatic organisms, modern technologies in fish farming, fishery management of open waters, basic management of water protection and water management, including related legal provisions and legislation in fisheries, water protection and water management.

Programme structure

The three-year bachelor's degree programme provides a basis in the field of biological-ecological relationships of aquatic organisms, modern technologies in fish farming, fishery management of open waters, basic management of water protection and water management, including related legal provisions and legislation in fisheries, water protection and water management.
During the study, students also complete professional and operational internships, which are implemented in professional and operational practice carried out at fisheries enterprises, fisheries association organisations or authorities dealing with fisheries issues. Students can also complete the internship in the form of an internship abroad, these internships are supported mainly by the Erasmus + program.

How to apply

The applicants are accepted without entrance exams. In the event that the number of applicants is higher than the number of admitted students, applicants are admitted on the basis of the order determined by the overall average from the study averages of individual high school certificates.

  • Students have the opportunity to participate in a number of professional excursions, lectures by experts from practice or extracurricular activities that the faculty prepares for them.
    After obtaining the title of "bachelor", you can move into the application sphere (middle management), state administration or self-government, business, or stay at school and continue a two-year master's degree.
