Report from a business trip, Vienna, Kajgrová, Adámek

Together with doc. Zdeněk Adámek, we participated in the Steering and Organizing Committee meeting for the Aquaculture Europe Conference (AE2023) on 25-27 April 2023. The meeting took place in Vienna (Austria), where the Aquaculture Europe conference will be held, on 18-21 September. Zdeněk Adámek is a member of the Steering Committee, while Lenka Kajgrová has been appointed student coordinator of AE2023. Everything essential for the conference's success was solved during the meeting - from promotion, individual sessions, and poster session (where the changes are expected) to industry forum. Based on our proposal, the steering committee came to a crucial and positive outcome for our faculty - the invitation of the Dean of FROV JU, Prof. Pavel Kozak, as a VIP guest for the opening of AE2023 and opening remarks. At the same time, the conference will now include an "industry forum" focusing on "generation change" (passing on the fishery heritage from generation to generation) and linking science and practice. We, therefore, expect participation not only from academia but also from the fishery practice of countries such as Austria, Hungary, Germany and the Czech Republic.  

Aquaculture Europe is taking place near the Czech Republic this year, focusing on aquaculture in "land-locked EU countries". We would like to invite not only our colleagues to participate but also our students to assist during the conference on an honorary basis (10 EUR/hr) (contact if interested: Lenka Kajgrová).
