Doctoral study
What the Faculty Offers to Ph.D. Students
For the study period of 4 years, full-time Ph.D. students receive a basic, extraordinary and premium scholarship (depending on publication activity). Every student also automatically gets a contract of employment. In total, Ph.D. students receive about CZK 17-23,000 per month (at least EUR 700 per month, i.e. EUR 8,400 per year) (depending on the study performance). Furthermore, the faculty offers cheap accomodation to Ph.D. students. More info about scholarships is available here.
How the Doctoral Study Programme Works
The doctoral degree programmes Fishery (P0831D03006A) and Protection of Aquatic Ecosystems (P0588D030004) are structured around individual consultations, independent study of recommended specialised literature, completion of required courses, international fellowships, participation in specialised seminars, practical training, and consistent work on the Ph.D. thesis.
Detailed information about doctoral studies is outlined in the Study and Examination Rules for Doctoral Study Programmes at FFPW. The progress of each student is monitored and evaluated by the Doctoral Studies Board.
Students are required to submit an annual report each year. The report form is available here.
