On August 23, 2024, the Minister for Science, Research and Innovation of the Czech Republic, Marek Ženíšek, visited the rectorate, selected faculties, and facilities of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences. During the visit, the minister met with leading representatives of both institutions to discuss the state of science and research in the Czech Republic, the scientific and research quality, and the beneficial collaboration between the visited organizations. At the University of South Bohemia, the minister visited the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, and the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology. At the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, the minister visited the aquaponic greenhouse of the Laboratory of Nutrition in the Institute of Aquaculture and Protection of Waters, where he also partially obtained information about the center and the large research infrastructure CENAKVA. The minister expressed interest in visiting the Vodňany part of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters during autumn 2024, where we will be very happy to welcome him.
