Summer holidays in Vodňany in the sign of education

The Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters of the University of South Bohemia in Vodňany experienced a rich summer holiday full of educational activities. The IEEAIC Centre prepared varied programmes for children and teachers, which attracted a total of more than 200 participants.
Craft Camp and the Mysteries of Easter Island
The summer suburban camps started in July with a Craft Camp that introduced young students to the world of creative work. Children tried their hand at recycled crafting, linocut and other handmade techniques.
The August camps then brought an adventurous journey to Easter Island. The young explorers delved into the history of the original inhabitants of this mystical place, deciphered mysterious writing, learned a traditional bird dance and discovered the secrets of the giant stone Moai statues.
Summer School for Teachers with record participation
The Summer School for Kindergarten Teachers, which celebrated its 11th year this year, took place in the penultimate week of July. The program offered 6 specialized courses focused on personal and social development of teachers, reading and mathematical literacy, and other topics related to the revised Framework Educational Program for Preschool Education.
A record 152 kindergarten teachers thus expanded their professional knowledge and gained inspiration for their work with the youngest children.
The Summer Programmes in Vodňany thus once again confirmed its important role in the field of lifelong learning and promoting children's interest in science and knowledge.
