Laboratory of Reproductive Physiology
About the Laboratory
The Laboratory of Reproductive Physiology (LRP) was established in 2008 within the Research Institute of Fish Culture and Hydrobiology in Vodňany, where it has been operating continuously ever since.
Our primary focus is fundamental research in the field of reproduction and gamete physiology. The knowledge gained is subsequently applied in applied research, particularly in controlled fish reproduction, preservation of fish gametes, and cryopreservation. The laboratory is also actively involved in teaching, contributing to courses related to reproduction, cell biology, and the fundamentals of scientific communication.
“From the flagellum through signaling to the gamete environment: we explore what jointly determines fertilization success.”
