About the Laboratory
The Laboratory of Nutrition (LN) was established in 2008 within the Institute of Aquaculture and Protection of Waters in České Budějovice, and continues to operate there to this day.
The laboratory is engaged in both basic and applied research and provides high-quality education of university and secondary school students in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, within the Czech Republic as well as internationally.
Our goal is to innovate farming systems, fish nutrition, and fish product processing in order to support the development of local aquaculture products as an affordable, healthy, and sustainable source of animal protein.

Our research emphasizes the efficient use of inputs and outputs in aquaculture systems, with the aim of bringing healthy, tasty, and locally produced fish products to the Czech market
