Qualification Theses

Every year, we offer bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students a wide range of topics for their qualification theses. The proposed projects address current issues in aquatic toxicology, fish diseases, and the protection of the aquatic environment.

The study topics integrate both basic and applied research – ranging from the assessment of the effects of xenobiotics on aquatic organisms, through the diagnostics and prevention of fish diseases, to the development of modern methods for water quality monitoring. This approach enables students to engage in real-world research projects and gain hands-on experience with both laboratory and field methods, which are essential for effective environmental protection and the sustainable management of water resources.

Career Paths of Our Graduates

Throughout its existence, our laboratory has provided a professional and research environment for numerous students who now hold key positions in Czech and international research and educational institutions, or government bodies. With the consent of our graduates and without indicating academic titles, we may list:

Head and Business Manager of the Fish Processing Plant, Fishery Chlumec nad Cidlinou a.s.

Fishpond management, its history, and its legacy for future generations are a commitment and a lifelong mission for me. Equally important is the joy of customers’ reactions when they enjoy our products. My goal is to teach customers to perceive fish as a high‑quality, healthy food.

Motto: "Fish farmers care for the landscape and for the water that gives life."
