Report from the internship, Germany

From 1.11.2021 to 28.02.2022, I visited Senckenberg Research Institute in Gelnhausen (Germany). During my internship I development several projects of my thesis, I used a recently collected riverine macroinvertebrate time-series database. Using this database, I investigate the invasion dynamics of Dikerogammarus villosus, the trends and impacts of alien crustaceans in recipient ecosystems, the dominance of Ponto-Caspian species in Europe and the invasion impacts and dynamics of Potamopyrgus antipodarum in Europe. In addition, I participate in two workshops organized by the host institute, (i) Functions and Loops in R and (ii) Functional metrics for the analysis of communities. Lastly, I would like to thank the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters and ERASMUS project for financially supporting my internship.
