19th World Fly Fishing Championship

The Czech team achieved an extraordinary success at the 19th World Fly Fishing Championship.
After a tough fight, the junior team, in the Trentino region of Italy, placed second behind Spain on the first place, on the third place was a team from France. In the individual competition, the Czech team had 3 competitors in the top five, namely third, fourth and fifth place.
At the first ever World Championship, the women's team of the Czech Republic, this time in Norway, won the title of world champions and occupied the first 4 places. This is an extraordinary achievement that may never be repeated.
In total, 10 countries and 50 competitors from all over the world took part in the championship. The Czech Republic has once again confirmed that it belongs to the world's absolute best in this fishing discipline. Our faculty can be proud of a couple in the junior team (Martin Musil, coach and Martin Vlk, manager), and in the women's team our faculty was represented by Kateřina Švagrová (a former student), who won the second place in the individual competition.
We are glad that we, as the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters USB, can participate in this success, and we congratulate for the fantastic achievements.
