This year, the two sessions of the summer day camp organized by the FFPW USB at the IEEAIC were all about detective work, discovering plants, and travelling around the world.
An unexpected incident occurred at the World Seed Vault near Longyearbyen – someone had stolen seeds of rare plants, and it was up to the children at the day camp to track down the culprit.
During their mission, the children travelled around the world, completed a variety of tasks, and gradually uncovered the superpowers of plants as well as the secrets of the thief through games and hands-on activities.
The Children’s University of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters USB is one of the activities through which the faculty introduces children to science and environmental topics. The aim is not only to pass on information, but above all to allow children to discover the world around them through their own experience, learn to work together, find solutions, and think in context.
