From March 9 to 13, 2026, the second international hackathon of the KreativEU alliance took place at the MEVPIS center, Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters (FROV), University of South Bohemia. The theme of the event was “Smart Archives – Unlocking Knowledge with AI.” During a 24-hour marathon, students and academics were tasked with designing a technology using artificial intelligence and other methods to make historical materials and archives accessible to the general public.
A total of six teams from various universities participated in the development of the technology, including teams from Sweden, Italy, Portugal, and Germany.
The final day featured presentations by all teams in front of an expert jury, and the winners of the hackathon received valuable prizes. We would also like to congratulate our students, MSc. Stephany Osei and MSc. Gyamfua Afriyie, who were members of the teams that placed 2nd and 3rd.
