The Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (FFPW USB) invites students to participate in the International Summer School 2026, which will take place from 1–15 July 2026 in Vodňany.

The program is designed for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students and offers a unique opportunity to take part in small-scale research projects under the supervision of experienced experts. Participants will gain hands-on experience in modern laboratories, attend lectures by Czech and international scientists, and take part in excursions (e.g. to fish farms) as well as collaborative work in international teams.

The Summer School is held primarily in Vodňany (in some cases also in České Budějovice, depending on the selected project) and emphasizes the connection between theoretical teaching, practical experience, and international cooperation.

Participation requirements:

  • student status at the time of the program
  • English proficiency at least at B1 level
  • interest in the selected project
  • submission of a complete application

Within the program, participants are provided with accommodation during the official part of the Summer School, academic supervision, access to laboratories, excursions, and a social program. Travel costs, insurance, and personal expenses are covered by participants themselves.

Application deadline: 20 April 2026 (may be extended)

More information and the application form are available here.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain new experience, build international connections, and spend the summer in a scientific environment.
