I successfully completed a 5-day Erasmus mobility visit to DTU Aqua (Section for Aquaculture) in Hirtshals, Denmark, hosted by Prof. Peter Vilhelm Skov. During the visit, I toured their experimental facilities and gained insight into advanced fish respirometry systems and metabolic phenotyping techniques. Our schedule focused on exploring synergies and standardizing protocols for measuring Standard Metabolic Rate (SMR), Maximum Metabolic Rate (MMR), Aerobic Scope, and Critical Oxygen Tension (Pcrit) under environmental challenges. We drafted a joint Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for rainbow trout respirometry at FFPW USB and identified key areas for future joint projects, publications, and scientific exchanges.
