Business trip report, France, Huber

"On 7–10 July 2025, the Crustacean Society (TCS) Summer Meeting 2025 took place at Sorbonne University (SU) in Paris, France, where the University of South Bohemia was represented by doctoral student Augusto Frederico Huber. He gave an oral presentation entitled "Claw Matters? Influence of Claw Loss on Male Mating Preferences and Fecundity Levels of Signal Crayfish Pacifastacus leniusculus (Dana, 1852)." These results are part of experiments conducted during his doctoral studies and his USB Grant Agency (GA JU) project: "Influence of Freshwater Crayfish Claws on Growth, Mating, Fecundity, and Prey Consumption."

During the four-day scientific programme, topics related to crustacean research were discussed, ranging from deep-sea species and fossils to diseases and welfare practices. In addition to the scientific sessions, the conference programme included visits to the Scientific Collections of Sorbonne University, the National Museum of Natural History (MNHN) collections, and the Tropical Aquarium of the Palais de la Porte Dorée."
