Travel to the Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) in Berlin, Germany.

On the 16.6.22, Ilona Prokopová, Christoph Steinbach and Pavel Šauer travelled to Leibniz-Institut für Gewasserokologie und Binnenfischerei (IGB) in Berlin, Germany. We obtained zebrafish (Danio rerio) and African clawed frog (Xenopus laevis) for use as breeding stock, and we also picked up various histological samples. During our visit with Prof. Dr. M. Stöck, Sascha Behrens and Dr. I. Lutz, we discussed actual and future projects. We were given the opportunity to tour the research and experimental facilities including Arapaima gigas, where we were given new information about Xenopus and zebrafish. We express our appreciation to Dr. Ilka Lutz and Dr. T. Meinelt for donating the animals and Doc. Dr. K. Knopf for the tour (please see picture). This trip was made possible thanks to the grant GAČR 22-19136S.
