During my one-month stay in Gelnhausen, Germany, I had the opportunity to visit my supervisor, Phillip J. Haubrock, at the Senckenberg research institute. The main focus of the visit was to meet and outline the forthcoming work for a French student named Mathieu Toutain, who joined us in Vodňany later months, thanks to the Erasmus program.
The project is focused on the functional changes and diversity shifts of non-native species in European rivers. The preliminary results of this research have been compiled into a scientific paper, which is currently under review by the journal Science of the Total Environment. Moreover, the findings from this project were also presented at the 2023 Summer School in Vodňany, offering further visibility and discussion around our work.
