From May 25–30, 2026, I attended the workshop "AI to Accelerate Scientific Understanding" at the Forum Digital Technologies in Berlin, hosted by the ELLIS Unit Berlin and BIFOLD at the Technical University of Berlin.

The workshop explored how explainable and interpretable AI models can advance scientific discovery across molecular science, medicine, geoscience, and other disciplines. I was particularly interested in learning how these new approaches to data analysis, interpretation, and AI-driven discovery could be applied to fisheries science and aquatic research.
