Report on Study Stay at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany

I completed a three-month training program under the supervision of Dr. Mkolaj Adamek at the Fish Research Unit of the University of Veterinary Medicine. During this training, I acquired the molecular techniques necessary to understand the role of immune genes during viral infections. I conducted experiments using virus neutralization assays, qRT-PCR, gene expression analysis, and microscopy, per discussions with my supervisor at the host institution. I independently performed experiments and analysed the data generated from my samples. The results will form a part of my PhD thesis. Additionally, this experience enhanced my understanding of the importance of effectively communicating scientific findings to both the scientific community and the public. Outside of laboratory work, I participated in social events that fostered connections and interactions with colleagues. I would like to express my gratitude to the Erasmus Mobility program and the Laboratory of Toxicology and Ichthyopathology of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters USB for their support in my internship participation.
