Report from the business trip, Rostock, Anushree Bachhar

I did my research internship at Department of Plant physiology, University of Rostock, Under the guidance of Professor Martin Hagemann. During my stay of 171 days from 10th January 2022 till 30th June 2022. I have acquired multiple skills such as, over expression of proteins, protein isolation, RNA isolation, working with different types of growth media for cyanobacteria and their specific use in research. I also got familiar with different tools used for batch culture and repeated growth (optical density).Also learnt about the cyanobacterial growth behaviour under these different growth conditions. The isolated protein was sent for analysis of substrate specific activity measurement and RNA was sent for further analysis using microarrays method.
