From August 10 to 15, 2025, FFPW USB staff (Bořek Drozd, Marek Let, Lukáš Veselý, Jan Kubec, Martin Vlk, Ismael Soto, Natalie Z. Szydlowska, Milan Aldorf, Daniel Kvapil, Filip Kupka, Pavel Staněk, Hana Šťastná, Jan Škrabánek, Lukáš Libert, Lukáš Beránek, Jakub Kocour) carried out regular monitoring of fish communities in the inland delta of the Danube in Slovakia as part of the integrated LIFE project Living Rivers (101069837/LIFE21-IPE-SK-Living Rivers). The aim of the event was to determine the current status and species composition of fish populations in this unique European river ecosystem, which is strongly influenced by the construction and operation of the Gabčíkovo barrage system. Project partners from the Slovak Angling Association and the State Nature Conservation Agency of Slovakia also collaborated on the event. WWF Slovakia, BROZ, and Diana Takacs, a professional photographer and visual storyteller, were involved in the media coverage.
