From September 28 to October 3, 2025, FFPW USB staff (Bořek Drozd, Lukáš Veselý, Martin Vlk, Natalie Z. Szydlowska, Milan Aldorf, Filip Kupka, Pavel Staněk, Matěj Předota, Jakub Kocour, Alan Fritsch) perfomed regular monitoring of fish communities in the inland delta of the Danube in Slovakia as part of the integrated LIFE project Living Rivers (101069837/LIFE21-IPE-SK-Living Rivers). The aim of the event was to determine the current status and species composition of fish populations in this unique European river ecosystem, which is strongly influenced by the construction and operation of the Gabčíkovo barrage system. Project partners from the Slovak Angling Association, State Nature Conservation Agency of Slovakia and Water Management Research Institute Bratislava also collaborated on the event.
