On June 13, 2026, I attended the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Slovak Anglers Union at Sv. Anton Castle near Banská Štiavnica. It was a dignified celebration of this significant anniversary, to which over 500 guests of honour from all over Slovakia, as well as from neighbouring countries, were invited. In the morning, a program was organized for the general public, featuring demonstrations of fishery techniques and presentations on the activities of various sectoral organizations and schools. The program also included fish gastronomy. The afternoon program for invited guests in the castle courtyard was thematically divided into blocks, separated by musical performances by the Gustav Brom Big Band. During each block, the union's representatives reflected on developments in recent years and thanked deserving staff members and partner organizations. On behalf of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, I presented a gift to the honouree in the form of specialized books published by the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters at the University of South Bohemia for the SRZ library in Žilina. The faculty received a commemorative pair of stones as a token of appreciation for its cooperation to date.
