Business trip report, Spain, Koushik et al.

Koushik Roy, Ph.D., employee of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice, Laboratory of Nutrition has chaired a session in the international conference Aquaculture Europe 2025, held in Valencia, Spain from 22-25 September 2025.

His session was called “Natured-based solutions and regenerative farming”, had three out of six oral presentations from colleagues of our faculty (presenters: Bidipta Mandal, Milos Buric, Koushik Roy). The strong presence of ecology, nutrition, food system objectives behind Czech pond aquaculture research was felt by the community as leadership in the current European pond research community and perceived as unique special feature of Czechia. As a result, next year, a full-day pond session was planned in Aquaculture Europe 2026 to be held in Slovenia.

Koushik Roy is part of CENAKVA WP3 for sustainable aquaculture and forming of a European pond aquaculture consortium is part of its mandate. The trip was covered by CENAKVA VVI project LM2023038.
