Business trip report, Thailand, Arghideh

From 1 to 30 June–July 2025, I undertook an Erasmus+ traineeship at Chiang Mai University, Thailand, under Assoc. Prof. Hien Van Doan in the Department of Animal and Aquatic Sciences. The placement encompassed laboratory introduction, literature review on fish nutrition, probiotics, and biofloc systems, and the development of experimental diets. I conducted feeding trials with Nile tilapia, collected water, blood, tissue, and microbial samples, and applied molecular techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, electrophoresis). Throughout the programme, I tracked water parameters in RAS, analysed microbial diversity, and assessed fish growth, immune responses, survival, and feed conversion. Data were processed using Excel and R, culminating in written reports and an oral presentation of results. This traineeship enhanced my theoretical knowledge and practical skills in aquaculture and fostered independent and team-based scientific competencies.
