Laboratory of Molecular, Cellular and Quantitative Genetics
International Cooperation
Academic and scientific staff and doctoral students from the laboratory actively participate in European and international symposia, conferences, and workshops, particularly those organized by the International Association on Genetics in Aquaculture (IAGA), the World Sturgeon Conservation Society (W.S.C.S.), and the European Aquaculture Society (EAS).
Since 2000, we have been cooperating in the field of sturgeon reproduction and breeding with the German company Fischzucht Rhönforelle GmbH & Co. KG, based in Gersfeld.
In 2024, laboratory staff Dr. Vojtěch Kašpar and Dr. Martin Hubálek established further cooperation in the field of sturgeon reproduction, breeding, and caviar production with the Icelandic company The Northern Sturgeon Company Limited in Ólafsfjörður.
Within both national and international research projects, our laboratory collaborates with several research and commercial partners on the development of genetic markers for common carp and burbot, studies focused on the estimation of genetic parameters of economically important traits, and the development of automated image analysis techniques.
