On an international level, the number of women in science in the Czech Republic has been quite low for many years. The goal of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science talent programme is to financially support young female researchers and make their career path in the science-research environment easier. Applications are now being accepted!
Female scientists who meet the following terms and conditions can register for the programme:
- age 40 or under,
- the title of Ph.D. in the field of non-living science (mathematical sciences, applied physics, earth sciences) and life sciences (biological and medical sciences, chemical sciences, ecological sciences).

A jury consisting of representatives of the Czech Academy of Sciences, representatives of the L’Oréal Company and the Czech Committee for UNESCO will select three talented female researchers, who will receive:
- 600 000 crowns to be divided between them, which they can use directly or indirectly to support their careers.
- Media training.
- The option to present their research in the media in the form of an interview.
Applicants can register for this year’s programme until 31 December 2022 through the www.prozenyvevede.cz platform.
