A virtual special issue was recently published in the scholarly journal Reviews in Aquaculture, which you can view here, entitled “Aquaculture Gamete Update: A Virtual Special Issue.” This thematic issue brings together 45 review articles focused on gamete biology, their preservation, and biotechnological innovations in species used in aquaculture.
The issue also includes a comprehensive editorial that summarizes the main contributions of the individual studies, identifies key knowledge gaps, and outlines directions for future research in this rapidly developing field. The editorial is available here.
A significant aspect of this special issue is the strong representation of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Of the total number of globally selected articles (from 2009 to the present), 17.8% originate from this faculty. This result confirms its long-standing strong and stable position in the field of reproductive biology and aquaculture research.
The published collection thus reflects the faculty’s leading role in shaping current research on reproduction in aquaculture and its substantial contribution to the international exchange of knowledge in this field.
A major contribution to this success was made by our colleague MSc. Deepali Rahi Roy, Ph.D. – LinkedIn link available here.
