One of the traditional points of the “Země Živitelka” program was also the presentation of awards for extraordinary research and experimental development results for the year 2023. Our colleague, Ing. Martin Prchal, Ph.D., took over from the Minister of Agriculture Mgr. Marek Výborný and the chairman of ČAZV RNDr. Jan Nedělník, Ph.D. honourable mention for the peer-reviewed article: "Simplified method for genetic slaughter yields improvement in common carp". The study was focused on using ultrasound tomography in the selection program of common carp to increase its slaughter yields.
