Presentation of awards to the FFPW USB employees and Ph.D. students

The prizes for the best presentation at the Ph.D. seminars were awarded as part of the Meeting of Academic and Scientific Workers and Ph.D. students from the FFPW USB on Thursday, 20th June 2024: The awarded students were:

  • Rigolin Nayak - Study on compatibility of germ cells after transplantation into a recipient
  • Laurine Mule Mueni - Effect of viscosity on fish sperm motility
  • Abhipsha Dey - Effect of embryonic DNA damage response on organogenesis of endangered sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus)
  • Amankwah K. Beatrice - Assessing differences between zebrafish and human nuclear receptor activation by environmental water extracts
  • Million T. Godana - The impact of climatic conditions and food availability on the bimodal size structure of pikeperch (Stizostedion lucioperca)
  • Natalia Szydlowska - From sight to smell: early predatory risk detection and food consumption in the highly invasive round goby Neogobius melanostomus      
  • Jan Černý - Respirometry utilization in modern aquaculture
  • Václav Kučera - Enhancing the efficiency of pikeperch culture by new biotechnology and technology approaches

This meeting was followed by the Faculty meeting, at which not only work anniversaries were recognized, but also the dean's prizes for extraordinary activities were awarded to the following employees:

  • The largest publication activity– Haubrock, P.
  • The best publication 2023 - Štundl, J. at al., 2023. Ancient vertebrate dermal armor evolved from trunk neural crest. PNAS 120: e2221120120.
  • The best publication of the author under 35 years in 2023 - Šauer, P. at al., 2023. Bioanalytical and chemical characterization of organic micropollutant mixtures in long-term exposed passive samplers from the Joint Danube Survey 4: Setting a baseline for water quality monitoring. Environment International 178: 107957.
  • Best student publication in 2023 - Soto, I. at al., 2023. Sigmoidal curves reflect impacts and dynamics of aquatic invasive species. Science of the Total Environment 872: 161818.
  • Best student publication in 2023 - Třešňáková, N. at al., 2023. Fitness assessment of Mytilus galloprovincialis Lamarck, 1819 after exposure to herbicide metabolite propachlor ESA. Environmental Pollution 331: 121878.
  • The best application result - Kašpar J. at al., 2023, Fish Flesh Encyclopedia.
  • Presentation of the faculty - the best positive visibilityGebauer R. at al. Jana Anna Kateřina Zátková Award for Popularization of Science - Aquaponics Activities.
  • Significant international activityKašpar V., Koleček J., Flajšhans M. in cooperation with the IHB Biology centre CAS, obtaining the INTERREG project Bavaria – Czech Republic 2021–2027, BYCZ01-020 Šumava Fish Jewels (2023–2026)
