Země Živitelka 2024
On 22-27 August 2024, the 50th anniversary edition of the international agrosalon Země Živitelka took place, offering a link between the history of the fair and smart technologies within the Smart Farming project.
Země Živitelka is a unique exhibition that focuses on the entire agricultural sector across all its disciplines. Thousands of visitors at this year's event were able to admire modern machinery, animals and also taste lots of good food. Families with children could also try out a rich programme aimed at young visitors.
This year's event featured a record number of livestock, including the smallest breed of European cattle, and the world's most powerful combine harvester, the CR11.
It is worth mentioning the participation of the President of the Republic Petr Pavel and his wife, Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Senate President Miloš Vystrčil and other representatives from the ranks of politicians.
Traditionally, the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice also exhibited at Živitelka, where the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters USB provided tasting of fish products and the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology USB supplemented the offer with farm specialties, such as Čtyrák beer from the faculty microbrewery, vinegar from hawthorn or excellent ProBerries yoghurt. This year, we prepared a rich offer of fish products, including novelties - carp mince in a bun and smoked trout in oil. The menu also included fish salads, a wide selection of non-perishable products and Sturgeon Friendly caviar, to name a few.
