Partner Institution visit; LINZ K1-MET
On 11. 08. 2026 Koushik Roy, Jan Mráz and Jiří Koleček visited the partner workplace K1-MET in Linz. We visited the laboratories, discussed broader focus of our teams and laboratories and we also consulted progress and next steps in the implementation of the ATCZ00278 – CARMA project from Interreg ATCZ program. Pilot bioreactor cultures of methanogenic bacteria were collected for amino acids profiling and selecting suitable candidates as part of inter-partner activity in the CARMA project.
The main objective of the CARMA project (CO2-based Methane and Protein Production for the Decarbonization of Industrial Processes) is to convert the climate-damaging greenhouse gas CO2 into microbial protein as an alternative source of protein. Four project partners (two each from AT and CZ) are involved in achieving this goal. The project results will benefit businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises, regional institutions and the public in these regions. Four publications will be published, three cross-border workshops will be organised and two joint solutions will be developed.
