Report of the traineeship in the Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen, Germany

The Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen, Germany, is one of the world's renowned institutions. I am proud to have had the opportunity to work there as a trainee from July 1st to August 31st, 2025, learning gene editing through CRISPR/Cas technology under the supervision of Dr. Uwe Irion, who serves as the scientific group leader in pigmentation pattern studies in Danio fish. I have also learnt how to prepare the components of the technology. Additionally, I have been able to conduct one of my experiments there, specifically identifying the expression of the genes I am looking for. It was a remarkable experience.

I would like to thank my Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Water, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, for making this possible. I would like to express my gratitude to the ERASMUS mobility program and my laboratory (Laboratory of Reproductive Physiology) for funding the traineeship program.
