From November 10 to December 8, 2025, a one-month internship was completed at the LocalFish production facility in Rafz, focused on practical training in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and pikeperch production.
The program followed a four-week rotation across key production units. In the first week, the trainee performed daily husbandry tasks and system monitoring in the grow-out section. The second week included hands-on work in the nursery, such as fish grading and basic health checks. During the third week, stock management continued in the pre-grow unit, with regular inspection of water quality and system performance.
The final week was dedicated to broodstock care and reproduction, including sperm collection, egg stripping, fertilization, and egg stocking. Additional experience was gained in maintaining stable RAS parameters and in Artemia cultivation for larval feeding. I also engaged with the colleagues there to support future fruitful collaboration.
