Fishermen's meeting in Slovakia

On 29 June 2023 I attended a seminar organized by the Association of Fish Farmers in Slovakia, in Trnava Hora (Žiar nad Hronom). At the national meeting of Slovak fish farmers, I presented two presentations at the invitation of the organizers, describing the situation in the Czech Republic. The first talk was about fishery education in the Czech Republic (apprenticeship, secondary and university), in which I focused on the possibilities of education, literature, science and cooperation, within our faculty. The presentation of the faculty included literature from the faculty production (books, methodologies, posters...). The second contribution was dedicated to the innovations implemented within the faculty in the previous programming period of the OP Fisheries. The philosophy of the innovative projects, the principle of their functioning and the topics addressed were presented. An offer to cooperate with Slovak fish farmers in this field was also made. As part of this presentation, the fisheries public was offered a tasting of several selected fish products - pâté and langoustines made on the basis of recipes developed by the faculty. Our presentation was really interesting and tasty. Within the framework of the working trip, there were also several discussions about the possibility of internships for our students at selected fish farms in Slovakia.
