Business trip report, Croatia, Folorunso

The annual international conference organized by the Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SDEWES) was held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from October 5 to 10, 2025. Dr. Ewumi Azeez Folorunso participated in the event and delivered an oral presentation on the dynamics of plant nutrition in soilless systems across mono- and inter-cropping systems. The presentation highlighted the interactions between plant species in aquaponic and hydroponic systems, emphasizing nutrient utilization efficiency and microbiome dynamics. In addition to the presentation, Dr. Folorunso attended several sessions related to circular bioeconomy, waste-to-energy technologies, resource-efficient food production, and climate-resilient water management. Participation in SDEWES 2025 strengthened international collaboration potential, particularly with researchers from European universities and sustainability-focused institutions.
