On September 12–14, 2025, I was invited to pitch my idea at Falling Walls Lab Wrocław 2025, Poland. I presented part of my research, and the title of my presentation was “Breaking the Wall of Who's Farming Who?".
The research identifies that algae, as the real farmers, can create seasonal nutrient shortages. By regulating nutrient flow, algae can control the growth of upper trophic levels such as fish.
The proposed solution is not to fight algae, but to farm with them. This involves reshaping feed and feeding strategies. Synchronising with the algae’s rhythm and providing the nutritionally balanced precision feed at the right time. The attendees appreciated this approach, which moves beyond controlling ecosystems to partner with algae that promote the European Green Deal.
