Career Paths of Our Graduates
Throughout its existence, our laboratory has provided a professional and research environment for numerous students who now hold key positions in Czech and international research and educational institutions, including our own institute and faculty. With the consent of our graduates and without indicating academic titles, we may list:
Miroslav Blecha
"I help manage 11 employees, with whom I farm carp, grass carp, and predatory fish on 550 hectares of ponds for both the domestic and foreign markets."
Lukáš Gerža
"My greatest professional joy is working with students who are interested in fisheries, biology, and nature conservation. I strive to inspire them to continue developing in these fields.”
Jiří Křišťan
Martin Růžek
"My job is to ensure the operation of the fish hatchery, including the artificial reproduction of species such as pike, carp, tench, ornamental fish, whitefish, and rheophilic species. This also includes the production and distribution of fish embryos. Outside the fish reproduction season, I serve as a fisheries technician in the technical, technological, administrative, and educational fields.“
Antonín Vavrečka
“I am currently involved in the implementation of the Operational Programme Fisheries at the Ministry of Agriculture.”
Jakub Vlček
"Each year we rear around 90 tonnes of stocking and market fish. On our ponds we typically produce carp, we operate the most significant European burbot farm, and also the largest private sturgeon farm in the Czech Republic. The company CaviFish s.r.o. is dedicated specifically to the production and sale of caviar. To this day, I highly value the quality cooperation with colleagues from FFPW USB”
Vít Wolf Profant
"Our company focuses primarily on water‑treatment equipment for RAS – from design and manufacturing to final installation. My main responsibilities include providing consultancy to colleagues within the team and overseeing the current projects of our clients around the world.“
