Intelligent real-time microscopic inspection system for OSRAM Česká republika s.r.o., production site Bruntál

The Laboratory of Experimental Complex Systems (LEKS) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters USB (FFPW USB/FROV JU) has developed a system for real-time control of tungsten spiral winding with an accuracy of micrometre units for OSRAM Česká republika s.r.o. (member of ams OSRAM Group). None of the world's microscope suppliers was able to achieve the required speed of filament rewinding.

The development of the device began in February 2023 based on the requirements of MIFRE Třebíč and dataPartner České Budějovice, who negotiated directly with the fibre manufacturer OSRAM Česká republika s.r.o. The original goal was to purchase a commercially available microscope and equip this microscope with rewinding. But this goal proved to be technically unrealistic. The LEKS team (Dalibor Štys, Kirill Lonhus, Maksim Karpov, and Ivan Larin) combined unique knowledge in microscopy, camera data processing, electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, and Bayesian statistics and design a solution and build a working sample together with Pavel Tichovský's precision mechanics workshop in Nové Hrady within two months. A further extension of OSRAM's brief led to the development of a precision winder that surpasses the winder used by OSRAM Česká republika s.r.o. in terms of its parameters and operational safety.
