The 49th year of the traditional exhibition “Země živitelka” took place from 24th to 29th August 2023, this time with the subtitle On the road to sustainability.
This exhibition is the only one in our country that includes the entire agricultural and food sector. Traditionally, agricultural machinery and services for agriculture, plant and animal production, food industry, technology, forestry and water management, organic farming, hunters, fishermen, beekeepers and small breeders are represented. Therefore, the joint stand of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Water USB and the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology USB could not be missed. Visitors could not only learn a wealth of information about the faculties and their focus and research, but also could taste, for example, fish soup or Čtyrák, a beer from microbrewery FAT USB. We would like to thank to everyone who visited us and positively acknowledged the activities of the faculties and the university.
The exhibition was traditionally carried out in the spirit of various meetings and negotiations. The dean of the FFPW USB prof. Ing. Pavel Kozák, Ph.D. had, among other things, the opportunity to discuss with the Minister of Agriculture Mgr. Marek Výborný, Minister of the Environment Mgr. Petr Hladík, 1st Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Ing. Věra Kovářová, chairman of the agricultural committee of the Chamber of Deputies Ing. Michal Kučera, Member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Mgr. Ing. Pavla Pivoňka Vaňková and members of the Parliament of the CR Tomáš Dubský and Ing. Jan Bartošek.
Another part of the “Země živitelka” was also the presentation of the award for extraordinary results of research and experimental development for the year 2023, which was also received from the hands of the minister by our colleague Ing. Martin Prchal, Ph.D. (you can find more here).
We thank the organizers of the exhibition for inviting us and allowing us to participate, the FFPW USB team led by Ing. Václav Nebeský, Ph.D. and Ing. Jan Kašpar for the perfect presentation of the faculty and to all visitors for stopping by our stand and kind words.
