From August 25th to 30th, 2024, Vaclav Nebesky and Martin Prchal visited Copenhagen, Denmark, to attend the Aqua 2024 conference held at the Bella Center. Václav Nebeský represented the faculty at the trade show stand for 3 days. Colleague Martin Prchal then gave an oral presentation entitled: The potential of selective breeding to eliminate unfavourable scaly patterns in Amur mirror carp. This presentation presented the possibilities of selective breeding in the Amur mirror carp in order to improve the undesirable shedding of this breed without further negative effects on utility traits.

On 8-15.2.2025 a business trip was made to the sturgeon farm of The Northern Sturgeon Company Limited (Hið Norðlenzka Styrjufjelag ehf.), Iceland. The participants were Ing. Vojtěch Kašpar, Ph.D., Ing. Martin Hubálek, Ph.D. and Ing. Pavel Švejda, supplemented by Daniel Dvořák and Filip Medal, as a pair of selected students of the bachelor's study of the FFPW USB.
The final preparation and artificial spawning of Russian sturgeon (A. gueldenstaedtii), Siberian sturgeon (A. baerii) and white sturgeon (A. transmontanus), was carried out on site, in order to produce caviar from ovulated eggs, i.e. without the need to kill the fish. Our students were excited about the trip and gained a lot of new experience.
From 1st September to 5th September 2024, Abhipsha Dey visited the 31st Conference of European Comparative Endocrinologists in Ancona, Italy. The international conference was held on behalf of the Society of European Comparative Endocrinologists. Abhipsha Dey had an oral presentation about “Effect of methyl methanesulfonate on the developmental role of AP endonuclease (APEX1) in sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus) embryos”.
Ve dnech 25. až 30. srpna 2024 navštívili Václav Nebeský a Martin Prchal konferenci a trade show Aqua 2024, která se konala v dánské Kodani. Václav Nebeský po dobu 3 dní reprezentoval fakultu na veletržním stánku na trade show. Kolega Martin Prchal pak měl ústní prezentaci s názvem: The potential of selective breeding to eliminate unfavourable scaly patterns in Amur mirror carp. Tato prezentace představila možnosti selekčního šlechtění u Amurského lysce za účelem zlepšení nežádoucího ošupení tohoto plemene bez dalšího negativního vlivu na užitkové znaky.

Ve dnech 8.-15.2.2025 se uskutečnila služební cesta na jeseteří farmu společnosti The Northern Sturgeon Company Limited (Hið Norðlenzka Styrjufjelag ehf.), Island. Účastnili se jí Ing. Vojtěch Kašpar, Ph.D., Ing. Martin Hubálek, Ph.D. a Ing. Pavel Švejda, doplněni o Daniela Dvořáka a Filipa Medala, jako dvojici vybraných studentů bakalářského studia FROV JU.
Na místě byla provedena finální příprava a umělý výtěr jedinců jesetera ruského (A. gueldenstaedtii), sibiřského (A. baerii) a bílého (A. transmontanus), za účelem produkce kaviáru z ovulovaných jiker, tedy bez nutnosti usmrcení ryb. Naši studenti byli z cesty nadšení a nabyli plno nových zkušeností.
Ve dnech 1.–5. září 2024 navštívila Abhipsha Dey 31. konferenci evropských srovnávacích endokrinologů v italské Anconě. Mezinárodní konference se konala pod záštitou Společnosti evropských srovnávacích endokrinologů. Abhipsha Dey měla ústní prezentaci o „Účinku methylmethansulfonátu na vývojovou roli endonukleázy AP (APEX1) v embryích jesetera (Acipenser ruthenus)“.
